Friday Farm School
Spring Session | May 1 – June 19
Fridays, 9:30–2:30
Ages 8–12
Enrolment is limited to 16 students.
Friday Farm School is an eight-week spring cohort rooted in the rhythms of spring on a small farm.
Each week, students spend their Fridays immersed in meaningful farm work — preparing beds, planting seeds, observing soil life, and learning how food systems function. Each day includes time in the field and farm kitchen, as well as space for reflection and creative work inspired by the season.
Alongside garden and cooking tasks, students engage in art projects that deepen observation and understanding — botanical drawing, seasonal printmaking, and simple hand-built projects using natural materials.
Together, we cook and share lunch using farm ingredients whenever possible. Students build confidence with real tools, develop foundational kitchen skills, and take on shared responsibilities within the group.
Over the course of the session, students deepen their understanding of:
– How a working farm moves through the spring
– The relationship between soil, seed, and food
– Care, contribution, and shared work
– Seasonal cooking and simple family meals
– Observation through art and making
